Retail Specialist


We are seeking a Retail Specialist with a passion for sales, merchandising, and sourcing beautiful, locally made products. 

Our Ciderhouse retail shop showcases thoughtfully curated goods that reflect our Vancouver Island roots and cidermaking heritage. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a results-driven retail environment, has an eye for creating inspiring displays, and loves sourcing products & makers that align with our brand. You are someone who leads by example and is motivated by hitting and exceeding sales targets.

In addition, as our retail shop is within our Tasting Room, you are willing and eager to pitch in and help the service team as needed by bussing tables, hosting guests, and serving cider.

Quick Stats
  • Compensation: Up to $20/hour, depending on experience and certifications + 4% vacation pay + share of pooled gratuities + 1% retail sales commission, for an average target hourly compensation of $30+/hour
  • Work week: Approx 30-32 hours/week
  • Vacation: 2 weeks paid (in the form of 4% paid out each cheque) + option of additional 2 weeks unpaid
The Job

This position is a combination of desk work (e.g. client calls, documenting plans) and front line “on your feet” hustle (e.g. helping clients navigate a wedding rehearsal, setting up tables & chairs).  

Main responsibilities
  • Lead by example in delivering a premium, brand-aligned retail experience while maximizing sales and supporting team success
  • Deliver exceptional, personalized customer service
  • Drive retail sales through product knowledge and storytelling
  • Create and maintain visually compelling displays
  • Source and build relationships with local vendors and artisans
  • Manage inventory, restocking, and product rotation
  • Manage all online orders, including packing and shipping
  • Lead our Cider Club membership program
  • Assist Sales, FOH and Event staff as needed
Qualifications
  • Retail experience in a sales-focused environment (experience in merchandising and/or buying an asset)

  • Proven ability or strong desire to meet/exceed sales goals

  • Experience building basket value through storytelling, pairing, and guided product discovery

  • Solid communication and customer engagement skills

  • Excellent eye for visual display and detail

  • Passion for local, sustainable, and well-crafted products

  • Organized, proactive, with a customer-first focus 

  • Positive growth mindset, a sense of curiosity, and a joyful team player

  • Comfort with point-of-sale systems (Square) and basic inventory software & online sales systems (Shopify preferred)

  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 15 kg routinely each day

Hospitality Associate


We are seeking a 
Food & Beverage service star to join our team! Do you enjoy customer service and helping others? Do you love the idea of working on an organic farm serving exceptional cider? Then we’d love to hear from you!

Quick Stats
  • Pay: $17.50 per hour + 4% vacation pay + share of tips pool
  • Work days options: daytime, evenings, weekdays, weekends
  • Shift options: 5 hr to 8 hr shifts (eg noon to 5pm, 11am to 7pm, 3pm to 11pm)
  • Seasonality: part-time and full-time hours available during the high season, and part-time shifts available year-round
The Job

Our Hospitality Associates provide visitors with an exceptional cider-centric experience. Depending on interest level and aptitude, team members have the opportunity to work on any of our Hospitality Teams – Tastings, Events, or Culinary  – as Cider Guides, Tasting Hosts, Bartenders, Event Assistants, Event Hosts, and Kitchen Assistants. They greet and seat guests, serve food & drinks, explain our ciders, bus tables, help with opening and closing duties, wash glassware, bartend, clean, help restock the bar, set up for events, etc.

Experience
