Day one (Saturday January 29), learn from Marilyn Soames about raising chickens in the urban garden, Brenda Jager – the latest buzz about bees, Carol Miles – sustainable vegetable gardening, Don Genova – catching a ride on the slow food train and Tom Baumann – what’s new with berries and fruits plus fourteen selected vendors. Lunch, coffee breaks and nutrition snacks included. Registration $55.
Day two (Sunday, January 30) take a self guided tour of five mini workshops on making succulent baskets at Doyle and Bond, a monthly guide to raising chickens at Fran Ertle’s Chicken Farm, wattle weaving, key principles of sustainable gardening and propagation at Glendale Gardens &woodland, growing organic heritage apples plus Cider tastings at Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse and celebrating the importance of local agriculture at Vantreight Farms. Registration $20.
