We are thrilled to add another gold medal, and a judge’s pick to the collection- thank you SIP Northwest Magazine!
Sea Cider was so excited to take part in the seventh annual Best of the Northwest 2018 awards issue for Sip Northwest magazine. This special edition of the magazine showcases the best beverages of the Northwest, and features the winners of the tasting competition with everything from wine, beer, spirits and cider.
An open call for submissions in April saw 531 wines, 263 beers, 114 spirits and 130 ciders that were blind sampled by over 80 leading beverage experts, from master sommeliers and cicerones to certified spirit judges and cider buyers. Each judge determined the top four winners in each respective beverage category. Erin James, editor-in-chief of Sip Publishing says “At Sip Northwest, we believe it is our responsibility to the reader to share what is out there. The adept palates on our blind panels help us to uncover and share what is the best of the Northwest, purely based on the drink itself, without any prejudices.”
The 130 cider entries were split up into 10 categories, each with a double-gold, gold, silver, bronze medal, and three judge favourites to be awarded. We were thrilled to learn that we had won a gold medal in the Wood Aged category for Rumrunner, and that Kings & Spies was one of the judges’ top picks in the Modern Cider category.
These wins add to the growing collection of awards we have won internationally this year! Thank you SIP Northwest Magazine!
